So often, I find myself thinking, “God, what do I do? What choice or decision should I make?”.
Fact: God is Sovereign (Col. 1:17, Ps. 90:2, Heb. 4:13, Ps. 29:10, Eph. 1:11-12, Prov. 16:4).
In decisions like, “What school should I go to?” or “Where should I live next year?” or “Should we move our family?”, maybe it could help to focus on WHO He is, rather than WHAT we need to do. I’ve noticed that this alleviates anxiety around decisions.
When I fret over a decision, I often feel that way because I am not totally and completely believing that God will provide no matter what I choose. If I believed this truth, would I really feel as anxious and out of control?
Reality: God is over any decision that I make. No matter which choice I make, He will provide. He is good. He is Sovereign. He is Provider. He is constant. Therefore, who HE is never changes. So, no matter what choice I make, God, in His Sovereignty, is just as present as He would be in Choice A or Choice B.
Doesn’t this take away some of the pressure we feel? Like, no matter what happens to us, no matter what we decide, He is over all of that (Eph. 4:6, Col. 1:17, Rom. 11:36).
So, let this truth resonate over you. You don’t have to feel pressure or anxiety, because God is over that. He is in control, no matter how many reasons sway you or no matter what your pro-con list looks like. There is no decision that surprises God**. Nothing can keep you from His will for you and from His love (Rom. 8:31-39).
